Adam May, Project Coordinator

Adam has served as the Project Coordinator for Bedford Street Angels since September 2009, following relocation from Bognor Regis where he was Director of Communications for Churches Together in Bognor Regis and District.  As part of his pervious role, Adam was significantly involved in the work to start Arun Angels, the Street Angels project in Bognor Regis. His role was to forge relationships between the Borough, police and local churches.

In his current role involves looking after the day to day organisation of Bedford Street Angels and supporting all aspects of the work, particularly working within the Bedford Borough Partnership. Adam studied Theology and Religious Studies for his first degree at York St John University, undertaking two extended dissertation pieces; the first explored the context for urban ministry in the Church of England today and a second exploring the role of the internet and social networking websites on Christian mission.

Adam dislikes labels feeling himself as a Christian but if pushed would usually describe himself as a liberal catholic with an evangelical background, charismatic tendencies and Orthodox influences. When Adam is free on a Sunday and during the week, he worships at St Paul’s Church, Bedford in the centre of town. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, listening to music and chatting to friends as well as singing loudly in the shower!

If you wish to discuss any aspect of the project, please do not hesitate to contact Adam who will also be pleased to help.
